What Does a Spider Plant Look Like

Wondering what does a spider plant look like? Read on!

The Spider Plant has slender, arching leaves that are typically around 12-18 inches long, though they can grow even longer. The leaves are linear and pointed at the ends, giving them a grass-like appearance. They grow from the base of the plant in a rosette pattern, radiating outwards which gives the plant a full, bushy look.

The color of the leaves varies depending on the variety of the Spider Plant, but they are typically variegated with stripes. The most common type of Spider Plant has mid-green leaves with creamy white or yellowish stripes running along the edges. Some varieties, like the ‘Variegatum,’ have leaves with a white central stripe and green margins, while others, like ‘Vittatum,’ have green leaves with a white central stripe.

Spider Plants can produce small, star-shaped flowers on their long stolons. The flowers are usually white and quite tiny. Flowering tends to occur more readily in conditions of strong light and in the outdoor environment.
