Different Types of Petunias

Depending on the flowers and the growth characteristics, the petunia flowers are divided into 4 main categories.

Grandiflora

This category comprises of large or double wavy flowers that can be up to five inches (12 cm) wide. The plant can grow up to a foot (30 cm) high. Grandiflora variety is less hardy and can be affected by heat and rain. It is available in a range of colors.

Multiflora

Originated in Mexico, this Petunia is decorated with frayed edges on the petals and comes in colors such as lilac, white, and soft pink.
