Succulent topiaries are in fashion, find and learn about the unbelievable succulent people art in this post!

As succulent topiaries are in the craze, the San Diego Botanic Garden illustrates the plant people or more clearly the succulent people. These life-like sculpture are so amazing to look at. Pat Hammer, the Director of Operations of the San Diego Botanical Garden, is responsible for this topiary idea. Initially, those topiaries were covered with the ivy, but as the trend changed, they decided to try with succulents.

These succulent topiaries are the result of years of patience and the knowledge and masterful work of the volunteers of the garden. Also, the warm weather and the correct watering play an important role in the perfection of these topiaries. Common succulents that are used are Echeveria, sedum, the string of pearls, burro’s tail, etc. The clay masks on the topiaries are modeled on the real faces of the people who were once the members of the horticulture society and garden.

  1. I think it could be nice for some exhibitions. But If I will do it in my garden I can be scared at night.
