Light

Pteris ferns do well in bright filtered light, as it receives in the subtropical climate. Avoid keeping the plant to direct sunlight since it damages the fronds. Keeping it near an east-facing window will give it the morning sunlight nourishment it needs.

Soil

The plant is not finicky about soil and can thrive well in a regular potting mix. Make sure the growing medium is well-draining. Use any peat-based mix for a fine growth of the plant.

Water

Water Pteris cretica regularly and generously as it cannot withstand dryness around the roots, hence keep the soil moist but do not overwater. Also, reduce watering when the temperature goes below 59 F (15 C) and allow the topsoil to become dry before watering.
