Snake plants are not heavy feeders, but nourishing them with an all-purpose liquid fertilizer like 10-10-10 in 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommended strength once every 4-6 weeks is required for optimum growth.

  1. Is terra-cotta pots OK for snake plants, since they dry out faster than ceramic containers ? And is a moisture meter good for checking soil?

  2. Definitely a clay pot works better. Also, a water meter comes in handy. I use one to check my plants on a regular basis. Some plants require more water than others so you can be careful not to under or overwater.
